Sunday, September 27, 2026 on The Flats
It was a busy Sunday for the Georgia Tech faithful. Between digesting Saturday’s trip to Stanford, keeping one eye on baseball, and looking ahead at future opponents, the Jackets community had plenty to talk about. Here’s everything that had fans buzzing.
Football: Key Meets the Media After Stanford
Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key met with the media following the Yellow Jackets’ 34-27 loss at Stanford on September 26. The postgame press conference, captured by the Helluva Podcast, gave fans Key’s first full read on a frustrating West Coast trip and what the staff plans to clean up going forward.
Naturally, the result reopened one of the offseason’s favorite debates. The GTSwarm thread “Should Godsey Be In The Box?” has fans weighing whether the offensive coordinator is better served upstairs with a wider view of the field or down on the sideline in the thick of it. It’s the kind of argument that only gets louder after a one-score loss.
Looking Ahead: Scouting the Future
Some fans spent their Sunday doing homework. The thread “Watching 4 future conference opponents today” collected live impressions of teams Tech will see down the road — a reminder that the schedule ahead is every bit as interesting as the game just played.
Basketball: Women’s Recruiting Buzz
The hardwood never sleeps. The ongoing GT WBB Recruiting thread stayed active with fans tracking targets, visits, and the latest commitments as the Yellow Jackets build the next roster.
Around the Diamond
October baseball is here, and the Jackets community is all in. The MLB Postseason Thread is the gathering spot for bracket talk and bullpen second-guessing, while the Braves 2026 Season Thread keeps the hometown nine front and center for Atlanta fans.
Fan Corner
- Ramble’s uniform lounge — the go-to spot for gold, white, and navy combinations, plus plenty of opinions on what Tech should wear next.
- Ok a new contest — a fresh fan contest kicked off, so jump in if you like your bragging rights earned.
- I’m SAD for us (not team related) — a reflective, off-the-field thread reminding everyone that this community is about more than wins and losses.
Final Thoughts
A loss stings, but there’s a lot of season left and no shortage of reasons to stay locked in. What did you make of the trip to Stanford, and where do you land on the Godsey debate? Drop your take in the comments and let’s hear it.
