Georgia Tech Celebrates Leadership and Civic Impact
This week, Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts is bringing together some of the nation’s most influential leaders to explore what it takes to guide organizations and communities through unprecedented challenges. As technology continues to reshape society at an accelerating pace, the Institute for Technology and Civic Leadership is doubling down on its mission to prepare the next generation of thoughtful, principled leaders.
Distinguished Leaders Share Insights on Leading Through Adversity
An upcoming panel discussion will feature former U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss and Bill George, the renowned leadership scholar and former CEO of Medtronic, in conversation moderated by Amanda Murdie, Ivan Allen Jr. Chair and Dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. Titled “Reflections on Leadership in Uncertain Times,” the event will explore the complexities of leading through rapid technological change, drawing on both speakers’ extensive experience in public service, business, and civic engagement.
This timely conversation arrives as organizations across sectors grapple with digital transformation, evolving stakeholder expectations, and unprecedented global challenges. The panelists will share hard-won lessons learned from navigating adversity and complexity—insights that Georgia Tech students, faculty, and alumni will find invaluable as they shape the future.
Transformational Investment in Civic Leadership
Beyond the intellectual exchange, the event will celebrate a major philanthropic commitment to advance the Michael E. Tennenbaum Family Institute for Technology and Civic Leadership. This transformational gift underscores Georgia Tech’s commitment to bridging the worlds of technology and civic responsibility—ensuring that our graduates not only innovate but lead with wisdom and integrity.
