It’s a big week for Georgia Tech athletics as the Yellow Jackets prepare to kick off the football season, with two major announcements hitting fans’ inboxes on Friday.
ESPN’s SportsCenter On Campus is headed to The Flats. Georgia Tech Athletics announced that ESPN’s SportsCenter On Campus will broadcast live from outside Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field this Thursday at 5 p.m. ET. Fans are invited to join the Georgia Tech Spirit Squads, mascot Buzz, and the Tech Marching Band on top of Peters Parking Deck for the festivities. Tickets for the season-opening matchup against Colorado are also on sale now, as is game-day parking.
Homecoming excitement builds among alumni. A separate alumni newsletter — themed around Techwood, Panda Express, and the nostalgic smells of 1995 — is rallying Woodstock-area Georgia Tech alumni to gather and watch the Jackets’ first football game of the year together. The Homecoming-tinged message captures the excitement building among the Yellow Jacket faithful as the program heads into a new season.
Between a nationally televised SportsCenter appearance and alumni watch parties forming across the region, the buzz surrounding Georgia Tech football is at a season-high heading into game week.
