Jackets Fan Buzz: Hoops Tip Off, Defensive Questions, and a Coaching Carousel Shake-Up

Things are heating up on The Flats. Basketball season is knocking, the football defense is under the microscope, and the coaching carousel just got a whole lot louder. Here’s what Yellow Jacket fans are talking about.

Hoops Are Back

Men’s basketball got its first real look at live competition with a preseason matchup against Providence on Oct. 24, and the GTSwarm game thread has fans breaking down what they saw. If you’re trying to figure out who’s going to be on the floor when it counts, the Starting 5 discussion is where the lineup debates are happening.

Also on the hardwood front: fans are talking Atlanta Dream, keeping an eye on the city’s WNBA side.

Football: Defense Under the Microscope

The defense is the hot topic, and it’s generating multiple threads. Fans are asking pointed questions about communication issues on that side of the ball, while a separate ACCOUNTABILITY thread has the board debating who answers for what. There’s also ongoing conversation about Jason Semore as defensive coordinator.

Meanwhile, the national coaching carousel is spinning: the board is lighting up over the news in the “Dabo fired” thread. Whatever shakes out, expect ripple effects across the ACC.
