Great news from the fairways! No. 22 Georgia Tech is maintaining its lead after 36 holes at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, and the Jackets are looking sharp through two rounds of competition. Our team is positioning itself perfectly as the tournament enters its final stages.

Leading the charge is Georgia Tech’s Emberson, who sits at -8 and leads the individual standings. After an impressive opening round, the Jackets came out swinging in round two and haven’t looked back. This is exactly the kind of strong performance we want to see from our golf program early in the season!

Football Regroups After Colorado Heartbreaker

The football team is licking its wounds after a heartbreaking one-point loss to Colorado last Thursday. In what’s becoming an all-too-familiar story for Jackets fans, Georgia Tech fell just short when it mattered most—literally by inches. The game came down to a blocked field goal attempt as time expired, but the real issue was field position and execution. Colorado dominated the run game (181 rushing yards to Tech’s 51), and our special teams left much to be desired. However, there were bright spots: QB Bert Mendoza showed promise in his first college start, displaying solid pocket awareness and minimal mistakes. Still, without an improved offensive line, even strong QB play won’t be enough to turn the tide.

Looking ahead to the crucial matchup against Tennessee on September 12th at 7:00pm, the Jackets have their work cut out for them. The Volunteers will be significantly more formidable than Colorado, especially along the lines. Coach Key and crew need to use this week to make critical adjustments and get the offense firing on all cylinders.
