Georgia Tech’s Founders Night is coming to the Marcus Nanotechnology Building on October 22, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This premier event brings together an extraordinary ecosystem of innovators, including startup founders, Georgia Tech faculty and researchers, students, investors, and corporate innovation leaders. The evening features lightning talks from industry pioneers including Mark Prausnitz, Regents’ Professor and Co-Founder of Micron Biomedical, along with founders and leaders from Stellar Scale Nano Fabrication, Kickr Labs, and other cutting-edge ventures. Attendees will enjoy facility tours of world-class research spaces, networking opportunities, and insights into pathways from laboratory discovery to market impact. This event is hosted by the Institute for Matter and Systems and is a must-attend for anyone interested in seeing how Georgia Tech innovations transform into real-world solutions.

Comprehensive Advising Support for Graduate and Teaching Pathways

Georgia Tech’s Center for Academic Success and Advising is offering extensive Pre-Graduate and Pre-Teaching Advising virtual drop-in hours throughout the fall and winter semesters. These free, no-appointment-needed sessions occur regularly on Mondays (8:30–9:30 a.m.) and Thursdays (2:00–3:00 p.m. ET) via the Navigate360 kiosk. Current undergraduate students can access meeting links directly through the kiosk, while graduate students and alumni should email Dr. Susan Belmonte at sbelmonte@gatech.edu. With sessions scheduled through December and beyond, including dates like November 5, December 3, and December 10, these advisors are ready to help students prepare for graduate school applications, explore fellowships, and navigate their next steps in academia or teaching careers.

Research Skills Workshops from Georgia Tech Library

Georgia Tech Library is empowering researchers with essential skills through two upcoming workshops. The EndNote Workshop on September 24 from 11 a.m. to noon introduces the powerful bibliographic management tool available to the entire Georgia Tech community through the Technology Fee. Participants will learn to add references from databases, manage PDFs, and integrate citations directly into Microsoft Word documents. For those focused on measuring research impact, the Research Impact Tools & Metrics workshop on September 28 from noon to 1 p.m. covers journal evaluation resources, citation tracking tools, scholarly identity management, and open access publishing options. Both sessions are online and welcoming to graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers.

AI Productivity Training with M365 Copilot Premium

The Office of Information Technology is offering multiple introductory webinars on M365 Copilot Premium, designed to help Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students leverage AI-powered productivity tools. Sessions are scheduled for September 2 (12:30–2:00 p.m.), September 14 (2:30–4:00 p.m.), and September 22 (1:00–2:30 p.m.). Led by Microsoft Cloud Solution Architects, these sessions cover generative AI fundamentals, effective prompting techniques, responsible AI practices, and data protection. The training distinguishes between Copilot Chat (Basic), available to all users, and the enhanced M365 Copilot Premium, which securely integrates with Georgia Tech work data stored in Microsoft 365.

PACE High-Performance Computing Python Training

Researchers and students interested in computational work will benefit from Georgia Tech’s PACE Python 101: Intro to Data Analysis with NumPy workshops. Hands-on sessions are available on September 30 (11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) and November 12 (11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.), both offered virtually. These courses introduce essential Python skills, NumPy and Matplotlib libraries, and Jupyter Notebook configuration on the PACE cluster through practical, real-world data analysis examples. No prior Python experience is required, though advance registration is mandatory by 11:59 p.m. the evening before each session.
