The Buzz is Real, Yellow Jackets!

The Georgia Tech College of Engineering just scored a huge win, climbing back up to the No. 3 position among all undergraduate engineering programs in the latest U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Colleges list!

Undisputed Public Powerhouse

Not only are we back in our best-ever spot overall, but the ranking also officially puts us in a tie for the nation’s No. 1 public university program (sharing the top spot with UC Berkeley). This is the second time in three years our College has hit the No. 3 overall position, solidifying our place among the engineering elite.

Hat Trick of No. 1 Disciplines!

For the first time ever, three specific engineering disciplines have claimed the top spot in a single year—a true testament to the exceptional faculty and students here on The Flats:

  • Industrial and Systems Engineering: The H. Milton Stewart School is untouchable, extending its remarkable run as the No. 1 undergraduate program for the 25th straight year!
  • Biomedical Engineering: Welcome back to the top! BME has returned to the No. 1 spot in its discipline.
  • Environmental Engineering: Making history, Environmental Engineering has moved to No. 1 for the first time!

Every Program is Elite

The excellence doesn’t stop at the top spot. Every single engineering discipline at Georgia Tech is ranked sixth or better nationally, with nearly all of them landing in the top three:

  • No. 2: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Civil Engineering all held strong at No. 2.
  • No. 3: Electrical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering both secured the No. 3 spot in their respective fields.

These rankings confirm what we already know: when it comes to world-class engineering education, Georgia Tech is operating at an elite level across the board.

Go Jackets!

On the university’s overall front, Georgia Tech also moved up a spot to a tie for No. 32 nationally and is tied for No. 9 among public universities.
