Georgia Tech Sports Digest – October 2, 2026: Max Emberson Named ACC Golfer of the Month

Happy Friday, Jackets fans. Not a huge news day on the Flats, but the one headline we got is a good one — and the message boards are humming as always. Here’s your October 2 roundup.

Max Emberson Named ACC Golfer of the Month

Put this name in your phone. Yellow Jacket freshman Max Emberson has been named ACC Golfer of the Month after winning his first two collegiate tournaments. Two starts, two trophies — that is not a normal way to begin a college golf career, and it is exactly the kind of start that makes you wonder how high the ceiling goes. Georgia Tech golf has a long tradition of developing elite talent, and Emberson has announced himself in about as loud a fashion as a freshman can. Head over to RamblinWreck.com for the full release, and keep an eye on the Jackets’ schedule the rest of the fall.

What the Swarm Is Talking About

The GTSwarm boards are where a lot of the real conversation happens between games. A few threads worth your time this weekend:

• Football IQ — a film-and-fundamentals discussion for fans who like to get into the weeds on scheme and decision-making.
• WBB 2026-2027 season — the women’s basketball thread is already building as the season approaches. Good place to get up to speed on the roster before tip-off.
• MLB Postseason Thread — October baseball is on, and the Swarm is watching along. Former Jackets in the big leagues always make the playoffs a little more fun.
• 26-27 Tech Ticket Exchange — if you need seats or have seats you cannot use, the fan-to-fan exchange thread is the first place to check.
• I’m SAD for us (not team related) — a non-sports thread from the community. Worth a read as a reminder that the Tech family is about more than wins and losses.

Go Jackets

That’s the slate for today. Congrats to Max Emberson on a start nobody saw coming. What are you watching this weekend — and who else on the fall roster deserves more attention? Sound off in the comments, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow. Go Jackets!
