Polishing the Professional Pitch

The Women’s Network is hosting a Professional Communication in the Workplace Workshop on Wednesday, September 30, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 314 of the Skiles Classroom Building. The session zeroes in on two practical skills that pay dividends long after graduation: filler word mindfulness and product pitch presentations. All Georgia Tech students are welcome, and dinner is provided for attendees.

An Open Door at IDEaS

The Institute for Data Engineering and Science is throwing open its doors for an IDEaS Open House on Thursday, October 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. on the 12th floor of CODA. It’s an informal chance to tour the space, reconnect with colleagues, and hear about the latest work coming out of one of Tech’s Interdisciplinary Research Institutes in machine learning and AI. Faculty, students, staff, and research professionals are all invited — and yes, there will be refreshments and swag.

Engineering the Immune System

Looking further ahead, the 2026 Immunoengineering Symposium lands Thursday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Suddath Seminar Room at the Petit Biotechnology Building. Hosted in connection with the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience and the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, the day brings together researchers, clinicians, biotech innovators, and venture investors around a single question: how do engineering principles reshape the immune system? Sessions span cancer immunotherapy, autoimmune regulation, inflammatory disorders, immune aging, and point-of-care diagnostics, with keynotes, trainee rapid-fire talks, and targeted venture programming. Registration closes October 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
